Due to COVID-19 regulations, all education abroad programs have been canceled through the spring of 2021. Though the University has hopes to resume programming and travel, future travel is subject to University approval, dates are subject to change, and programming may be altered or canceled due to changing circumstances.

This four-week program offers the opportunity to live with a Spanish host family in lovely Cádiz, a mid-sized beach town in the south of Spain.

The program is designed for students who have completed SPAN 200 and at least one of these two courses: SPAN 253W or SPAN 215. Students will have the opportunity to take more advanced and specialized courses in topics such as Spanish Art and History, the formation of the Spanish language, and Spanish Literature.

Over the course of the program, students will gain a better understanding of Spanish culture through excursions, local events, and student presentations at monuments of different important sites.

The program will also travel to important cultural sites like Granada, Seville, Madrid, and small towns around Cadiz to enhance their learning about Spain’s history, art, and architecture.
