María José Omodeo

María José is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. In Argentina, she worked as an EFL teacher in primary and secondary education and as an Anglophone literature instructor at the college level. In 2021, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to serve as a Spanish teaching assistant at the University of Arkansas. Her current doctoral research focuses on contemporary Latin American and Andean literature written by women, examining decolonial feminist frameworks, non-realist aesthetics, and the body-territory relation across the trans-Andean region and the Argentine Northwest.
