Biography:

Margaret is a lecturer in the Spanish Basic Language Program and currently teaches Spanish 2 at Penn State. She received her B.A. in Hispanic Studies and International Relations from Boston College. Ms. Liegel spent a year in Mexico prior to beginning undergraduate work. That time ignited her passion for the language that has endured to the present. During her time at Boston College, Ms.Liegel spent a year abroad in Quito, Ecuador. Ms. Liegel graduated with an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of San Diego. While enrolled in the University of San Diego, she also earned a Multiple Subject Graduate Credential with a focus on Bilingual Learners. Additionally, Ms. Liegel earned an A.A.S in Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design and holds a Teaching Permit Certificate from the Pennsylvania State of Education.

Ms. Liegel has over fifteen years of experience teaching in both public and independent schools. She has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students learning Spanish and is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for her students.
