Biography:
Juan Blázquez Cuena is an ABD PhD. Candidate in Spanish Literature at Penn State University. His dissertation focuses on the early twentieth century and analyzes how the different representations of Don Juan are used in relation to national identity and modern subjectivity and how the problematic madness that underlies the character is used to criticize society. Further research interests include Spanish romanticism and the historical avant-garde.
