Biography
José Miguel is a Ph.D. student in the Spanish and Latin American Literature program, he is currently studying Bildungsroman narratives in Latin America. He has been interested in race, gender, and politics of representation since he was in his undergraduate studies. His thesis from his first master´s is about the relationship between landlords’ children and racialized subjects in Las memorias de Mamá Blanca, by Teresa de la Parra, and Balún-Canán, by Rosario Castellanos.
