Claudia Pisano

Claudia Pisano earned her Ph.D. in Italian Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2025, with an interdisciplinary dissertation that examined representations of Native Americans in Italian media and popular culture from the 1890s through the 1970s, with particular attention to comic books. Her research interests include Italian popular culture and Native American and Indigenous Studies. She is also a passionate Italian language instructor and, before coming to Penn State, she taught Italian at the University of Texas at Austin for six years.
