Biography:
Michael Edwards earned his MA in Italian from Middlebury College in 2008, and his PhD in Italian Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 2019. At Penn State, he teaches Italian and Italian-American culture, Italian language, and film adaptation. His research interests include 20th century Italian literature, theatre, cinema, film theory, adaptation studies, and intermediality. His current book-length project, based on his dissertation, explores film adaptations of Luigi Pirandello’s narrative and theatrical works. Michael has also co-directed summer study-abroad programs in Reggio Calabria and Todi, Italy for the last 5 years.
