Biography:
Juan Blázquez Cuena got his PhD in Spanish Literature from Penn State University. His dissertation focuses on the early twentieth century and analyzes how the many representations of early XX century Don Juan are used in relation to national identity, social conventions, gender, and modern subjectivity through the lens of Trickster semiotics. Further research interests include Spanish romanticism and the historical avant-garde.
