Biography:

Juan Blázquez is a MA/Ph.D. student in the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. He holds a BA in Spanish: Language, Literature and Culture by the Complutense University of Madrid. My research interest are mostly focused on Spanish literature from the XX century, in particular post civil war authors (poetry and narrative) both under the dictatorship and exiled. I am currently trying to dig on authors that were once well known, respected and important at their time but have since been forgotten. I am also turning my sight back to the XIX century. I am exploring representations of the "third Spain (i.e.: "the Spain that never came to be")" as a literary artifact: how does the author construct it, how does it affect the characters, how does it collide with the "two real Spains" (the conservative and the progressist), etc.  At the same time I have an interest in new literary criticism and philosophy and I am curious about digital humanities.
