Biography:

Claudia is a graduate student in the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at Penn State University, where she specializes in Hispanic Linguistics.  She earned a B.A. in Letters, Portuguese and Literature from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a B.A. in Pedagogy from the Signorelli International University. She also earned a M.A. in  Language Studies and Linguistics from the  Fluminense Federal University in Brazil. She speaks Portuguese, English, Spanish, Japanese and a few French. Her mainly research interests are focuses Bilingualism, Second language acquisiton, Portuguese as a Heritage Language and code-switching. Besides linguistics, Claudia likes to spend time playing with her dog Duda, playing videogames, reading mangás and swimming.
