Ana is a second-year MA/Ph.D. student in the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. She earned a B.A. in Spanish and a B.S.Ed. in World Language Education from the University of Georgia in 2019. During her undergraduate career, she worked with both K-12 and adult students of ESOL programs and employed her knowledge of Second Language Acquisition through student teaching practica in Georgia and Costa Rica. Beyond her own Puerto Rican heritage, she enjoys learning of other Spanish-speaking cultures and has literary interests on the topics of border studies, multiculturalism, identity, and women’s studies. Ana is the secretary for the SIPGSO and the president of Sigma Delta Pi for the 2020-2021 academic year.
