SPAN 597 19th Century Latin American Photography: The Bourgeois Experience?

This course explores the history, development, and cultural significance of photography in Latin America during the nineteenth century. Through a combination of lectures, readings, discussions, and hands-on activities, students will gain a deep understanding of how photography shaped perceptions of identity, culture, and society in the region.
