Biography:
Xin Liu’s research mainly involves the cultural communication between Italy and China from late nineteenth century to the present, focusing on (re)construction and representations of national identities in literary works, as well as fiction and non-fiction movies. His broader research interests include various aspects of nineteenth and twentieth century Italian literature.
Since 2011, he has taught a variety of courses at UNC and Penn State, including all levels of Italian language courses and upper level Italian cinema and literature courses.
He has combined his primary teaching activities with substantive university service, chairing the SIP Professional Development Committee and serving on Penn State University Faculty Senate.
