I am from Mexico. I moved to the United States in 2005. I studied Information Technology and have twenty years of experience in related jobs, including five years as the General Manager of the Computer Center at the National Pedagogic University in Mexico City. I also have a Teacher’s Certificate for teaching English as a Second Language. I taught English to adults and children for two years in Mexico.
I have taught several Spanish courses such as Spanish 1, 2, 3, 10 and 20 here at Penn State since Fall 2006. I was the supervisor of Spanish 1, 2, and 3 from 2008-2010. I have been the Assistant Director of the Spanish Basic Language Program since Fall 2010.
The most enjoyable part of my job is to be with my students in the classroom. I love to get to know each of them and to share cultural facts. To see them learning and listening to them describing their lives in Spanish fills my days with satisfaction. At the end of each semester I hunger for a new one to start.
Teaching is wonderful!
