FAQ - Enabling Cookies
Internet Explorer 7.0 and later - Windows
- Open Internet Explorer
- In the menu at the top of the screen, click Tools.
- Select Internet Options, the last item on the list.
- A new Internet Options window will open. Select the Privacy tab. By default, the privacy setting is Medium. This setting can sometimes conflict with Web sites such as ANGEL that require cookies to work properly.
You may choose one of two options: enable cookies for ALL sites or enable cookies for ANGEL specifically.
- To enable cookies for all sites, click the slider at the left and while holding down the mouse button, drag it all the way down. This will change the setting to Accept All Cookies.
- To enable cookies for ANGEL specifically, click the Edit button in the lower portion of the window. A new Per Site Privacy Actions window will open. In the Address of Web site field, enter http://cms.psu.edu . Then click the Allow button. You should see "psu.edu" listed in the Managed Web sites list below. Click the OK button. Again click OK in the Internet Options window.

- The right side of the window will display the setting options for cookies. You may choose one of two options: enable cookies for ALL sites or tell Mozilla to prompt you as to whether you will accept cookies when you visit each site.
- To enable cookies for all sites, click the radio button next to Enable all cookies. Click OK.
- To have Mozilla check with you as to whether you will allow cookies on a site-by-site basis, click the radio button next to Enable cookies based on privacy settings AND click the check box next to Ask me before storing a cookie. Click OK.
- When you first visit ANGEL (or any site that tries to set a cookie), a message window will display. To accept cookies, click the check box next to Use my choice for all cookies from this site. Then click the Allow button.
